Biography

Rev. Eleazor [Eleazer] Cole II was born on 9 Jul 1734 in Harwich, Barnstable, Mass. He married in 1760 at NY or MA, to Eunice Hannah Cole, b. 27 Apr 1742, Eastham, Barnstable Co., MA, (daughter of Israel Cole III and Remember Burgess, d. 1771, New Paltz, Ulster, NY or Washington, NY). Eleazor died after 1777 in Dutchess, NY or possibly in VA. Eleazer Cole was a Methodist or Presbyterian minister. He owned land in New Paltz, Ulster, NY. Eleazer sold land to Hugh Cole in New Paltz, Ulster Co, NY 1771.

His son Eleazer Jr and wife Hannah Rouse moved to Montgomery Co VA, and then moved about 1819 to Indiana, where he began the settlement known as Coles Corner. They had children Dorcas, Eleazer III, Hannah, Tabitha, Joan and Eunice.

Eleazer sold land to Hugh Cole in New Paltz, Ulster Co, NY 1771. Eunice: Did she die 9 Oct 1786?[1]
