Una's occupations: At 1911 census: Single; age 19; Clerk Civil Service [in Post Office] in St Albans. Later: Civil Servant (Money Order Department). As a teenager and in her 20s, Una enjoyed playing tennis (hence met husband in St Albans); swimming (including life-saving); and hockey (captain of her work department club).
In later life for nearly a decade Una and Eric together took package holidays abroad once a year, from 1966 (Andalusia) to 1973 (Rome & Milan).
