(Eva) Evelina Georgina Hampshire

Eva's full name was thought to be Evangalina Georgina Hampshire, according to Henrietta Lavina Hampshire; however, her gravestone only reads "Eva Hampshire".

According to Eva's two 1876 baptism records, her full name was Evelina Georgina Sasman. (Source: FamilySearch.org, "Cape Town, Papendorp and Woodstock, St Mary, Baptisms 1864-1878", Image no.: 72 and 77)

In the baptism record of her daughter, Elaine Sylvia Hampshire, Eva's name is given as Eva Evelina Hampshire. (Source: FamilySearch.org, "Cape Town, Wynberg, St. John, Baptisms 1896-1919", Image no.: 403).

Eva Hampshire nee Sasman appears to have been baptised twice; the reason is unknown. Her first baptism was on 28 July 1876; her second baptism was on 10 Sept. 1876. Both baptisms were held at St. Mary's, Papendorp, Cape Town.

Eva's second baptismal record gives her date of birth as 11 June 1876, while her gravestone gives it as 11 June 1873; the same day, but a difference of 3 years.
