Grace, Austin, John, and Ned were born in Merrillan, WI at Eva's home while they lived on the cranberry marsh. The marsh burned out and John moved to Pray and had a grocery store. They lived in the back end of Maud's house. Then moved a house from Dexterville about 1897. Died at her home where she lived with son, John, in Allen Creek, Sunday March 25, 1945. She taught in several Jackson County schools as a young woman. She graduated from High School in 1885. She loved her flower garden which was like an old English garden, mostly perennials. She and Edna did a lot of baking, canning and cooking. Always did a lot of reading. She also milked the cows. In 1930 census was living with John, also Bert, Grace and Robert.
