Her parents are listed as John R. and Elizabeth "Betsy" Simpson Shockey, though their last name smudged beyond recognition on the document, from North Carolina. She is listed as a widow, and was the wife of Christopher Rail "Kit" Maynard. Information on death certificate was given by William Keesee, who is also buried in Apple Orchard Cemetery. They had sixteen children. She died in November, 1912, a few days before her 104th birthday.
