Evangelist Charles Fregon

When Evangelist Charles "Van" Fregon was born on September 4, 1891, in Turton, South Dakota, his father, Charles, was 41 and his mother, Eugenia, was 33. He married Louise Mary Fortin on October 18, 1911, in his hometown. They had four children during their marriage. "Van and Louise moved on the Fregon farm 2 miles south of Turton where they lived till 1919 or 1920. They moved into Turton where Van started the first Standard Oil Bulk station for 1 year, then did the Turton Butcher shop till 1927 when it sold out .Moved to the farm in 1929 and then moved to Marshall MN where they farmed for 4 years. After they worked at carpentry in the town of Marshall.During the war they left Marshall to work at government jobs, eventually settling in San Mateo CA.
