Eveleen Montana Eberle

Eveleen Kennard was born on Aug. 6, 1892 in Manchester, IA. Her parents took her to Montana when she was still an infant. She received a degree in Home Science from Bozeman College in 1915. She corresponded regularly with a niece, Ruby Kennard Kimball. Eveleen Montana Kennard married Alfred M. Eberle (Max) on July 14, 1915 in Kinsey, MT at Mackay Ranch. Alfred Eberle was born Oct. 8, 1892 in Chicago, IL. When Alfred was approximately 10 years old, his family moved to Butte, MT. He graduated with honors from Butte H.S. and received a 4 year scholarship to the State Agricultural College at Bozeman, MT, where he received a degree in agronomy and animal husbandry in 1915. Alfred and Eveleen Kennard Eberle homesteaded near Willard, MT. Both Alfred and Eveleen belonged to the Methodist Church. In 1922, Alfred took a county extension position in South Dakota. In 1939, he received a masters in agricultural economics from the University of Minnesosta. Alfred eventually became the Dean of Agriculture for South Dakota State College from 1940-1958. Eveleen Montana Kennard Eberle died in a car accident on Nov. 2, 1931 in Boone, IA. Alfred M. Eberle died on April 16, 1968 in Glendale, CA. They were both buried in Greenwood Cemetary at Brookings, SD. Eveleen Kennard Eberle and Alfred M. Eberle had the following children: 1. Gretchen Sarah Eberle, b. June 8, 1916 in Kinsey, Custer City, MT on Kennard Ranch. 2. Julie Ann Eberle, b. Dec. 26, 1925. She was adopted from the Children's home inn Boise ID. 3.Benjamin Kennard Eberle, b. Mar. 4, 1929.
