NOTE: (by Thomas H. Warner, researcher of Tappahannock, Essex County, Va.)
The above record and preceeding page are descriptions of land sold by Ben Rodden and wife that lay just west of the land of the Byroms. From it and the Byrom and West deeds we have a very clear understanding of where the land of the Byrom was. That is to say their land lay on both sides of the road that leads South-West from Essex mill - and the old mill located about 1 ? miles due West from Dunnsville in Essex County, Virginia. The old mill was known by many names, such as Piscataway mill, Webb's Lower Mill, Webb and Ritchie's mill, etc., and Covington's mill before Webb bought it.
