Biography

Ezra Chase was born on May 25, 1720, in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, the son of James and Martha Chase.[1][2]

He married Abigail Lowe in Newbury in 1743.[3]

In the capacity of Private (Minuteman), Ezra served in the Revolutionary War by enlisting at Haverhill, Massachusetts and serving for two days in April 1775 in Cambridge in Captain Ebenezer Colby's Company.[4][5]

Abigail and Ezra had ten children, early ones born in Newbury (children Abigail, Somersby, Lois and Daniel are seen in the Newbury Vital Records).

He passed away in 1799 in Leominster at the age of 78.[6] His wife survived him by 11 years.[7]
