Biography

"Ezra Pond, son of Robert, was probably born at Wrentham, though the event was not entered upon the records. He purchased lands in Wrentham as early as 1721. In 1726 his father conveyed to him all his lands, house, and cattle, although the deed was not acknowledged until 1735.... He resided for many years in the portion of Wrentham which was set off under the name of Franklin, and was town clerk for a long period. He was one of the founders of the second church of Medway (West) in 1750. He resided for the last years of his life with his youngest son, Elijah.

Ezra Pond was twice married, first, Nov. 26, 1718, to Abigail Farrington, in Wrentham, Norfolk, Massachusetts.[1] the mother of all of his children, who died April 19, 1759;

and second, April 1, 1761, to Margaret, widow of Eleazer Metcalf, of Wrentham." Page 26 [2]

His will was dated Feb. 25, 1779. It was not admitted, as Mar 28, 1788 John Metcalf of Bellingham testified in court that he drew the will, Pond then being non compos. The widow and son Aaron were appointed to administer, Aug 5, 1788.
His will names his children: Ezra, Oliver, James, Reuben, Aaron, Moses, Elijah, Abigail, Joanna, Robert and Hezekiah.[3]

Ezra was born in 1692. He passed away in 1788. He married second Margaret Ware, the widow of Eleazer Metcalf, on 1 Apr 1761 in Wrentham, Massachusetts.[14][15] Margaret was the daughter of Michael Ware and Jane (Jean) Wight and the granddaughter of Jonathan Wight.
