F1c J. D. Hampton

J. D. Hampton was the son of Willie Riley and Vallie Annah (Ballard) Hampton and was born on 17 July 1917 in White County Tenn. J. D. was a Fireman 1st Class in the US Navy and was killed during the bombing of Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec. 1941 while on board the USS Arizona. While there is a memorial grave site in the Ulysses, Kansas Cemetery, he is inturned on board the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor.
