A listing of individuals killed by the violence of war.
This project is dedicated as a silent memorial both for those whose lives were cut short by the violence of war and for their surviving family members whose lives were forever affected by those deaths. It is a place of honor and quiet reflection where one can see the true scope that war has had on every society and culture.
It is not a place of political or partisan debate. It is not a forum for arguing for, or against, any nationality, creed, belief system or set of values. It is not even a venue to discuss whether some wars are just or necessary. It is just a simple recognition that those individuals listed here are special and that their death had a profound impact on their families.
So, if someone in your tree has been killed by war please add them here. It doesn’t matter whether they died in battle, died as a result of their wounds or of disease in a prison camp, or in some other manner. They didn’t even have to be soldiers. They are all welcome here.
