Extract from Kenneth Barns' memoirs:
Grandma Barns:
She also died when I was very young and I really have no memory of her. I don’t even know her Christian name. I do, however, remember Dad telling me that her father was a herbalist and had a business in Ashley Road near our home in Seymour Road [Bristol]. Dad pointed out the premises to me. He also told me her family had some connection with Clevedon Court, a large country mansion just outside Clevedon, but I have no idea what it was. She or Granddad, or both, also had sisters, and one Auntie Emmy, was often mentioned in conversation. She was one of the early teachers at George Muller’s orphanage, I believe.
