Biography

Fear Dunham was born on March 13, 1707/8, the daughter of Eleazar Dunham, Jr and Miriam Phillips of Plymouth, Massachusetts[1] [2] [3]

On March 6, 1731, Fear Dunham married Jacob Curtis, the son of Ebenezer Curtis and Mary Tinkham, also of Plymouth[4] [5] [3] [6] , and their children included:

Elizabeth, born May 24, 1732[7] [3] Sarah, born July 14, 1734[8] [3], who married Joseph Woods in 1762[9] Caleb, born July 13, 1737[10] [3] Fear, born May 12, 1740[11] [3], who married Richard Kempton on March 21, 1762[9] Jacob Jr, born August 10, 1742[12] [3] Mary, born March 19, 1744[13] [3] Hannah, born April 24, 1747[14] [3] Jacob Curtis died before January 1752[3]

On January 22, 1752, Fear (Dunham) Curtis remarried William Gammons, a widower[5] [3][15], and they had children, including:

Rebecca[16] [17] [3], who married David Barss and John McAlpine[9] Circa 1760, William and Fear emigrated to Liverpool, Nova Scotia, where he was one of the first proprietors of the town[18]

Simeon Perkins Diary makes one reference to William, on Saturday, April 12, 1777, he notes that William Gammon and Enoch Dexter are seriously ill. Fear's children,and their children, are named in other passages[9].

Fear (Dunham) Curtis Gammons died September 13, 1774[3]
