Feldw Werner Schwalb fought in France and Africa. He was captured at Solemn, Egypt. He was one of 3 POWs charged with the murder of August Plaszick and the only one to be executed at Camp 132 near Medicine Hat, Alberta. CBC Digital Archives

In 1970 Perzonowsky was disinterred from the Prison Yard, Lethbridge Jail, Lethbridge Alberta and buried in the German War Graves Section in Woodland Cemetery in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The servicemen were buried two to a grave according to the names on the headstone. He is buried with Bruno Perzonowsky.
