About Felix Sluder
Felix Sluder served with the 58th north Carolina inf. company L.
He was captured at the battle of missionary ridge. From there he was sent to Rock Island POW camp.
To escape Rock Island,he joined the union forces and was put into the navy.
He was assigned to the USS Ticonderoga and served aboard it thu 1864 to March 1865.
He served aboard the Ticonderoga during her attempt to chase down the Confederate raider CSS Florida and at both battles of fort Fisher.
