About Ferdinand Joseph Bott
Ferd J. Bott Dies Tuesday At St. John's
Ferd J. Bott, 85, 786 Miami, died Tuesday afternoon at St. John's Hospital. He had been in poor health six months. He was born July 12, 1874, in Leavenworth county, a son of William and Catherine Bott [Note: His father was Michael "Mike" Bott, not William Bott. William Bott was his brother]. On April 5, 1903 in Leavenworth, he married Katie Marie Gast.
Mr. Bott had been a lifetime resident of the county and had spent his lifetime farming. He has been retired two years and had made his home in Leavenworth. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Gonterwitz, 1428 Olive, and Mrs. John Fitch, Monahans, Tex.; one son, Edward Bott, RR 1; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His wife, Mrs. Katie Marie Bott died May 14. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends will recite the Rosary on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Sumpter Funeral Chapel."
