About Ferdinand "Fred" Charles Walz
Obituary FRED CHARLES WALZ
Fred Charles Walz, the second
child of the late Wendlin and Justina Walz, was born Oct. 11, 1873,
near Crown Point, Ind, and died in
a Mitchell hospital Jan. 3, 1948,
after an accident at the farm home
of his son near Fulton the day before. He had lived with his son for
the past six years.
He came to South Dakota at the
age of 14, settling with his parents
on a farm near Milltown. In
1899 he married Alta Elizabeth
Kelly at Milltown, and to this union
five children were bom, three of
whom preceded him in death.
Mrs. Walz died July 9, 1941.
Surviving are a son, Ellsworth, near Fulton,
and a daughter, Mrs. Mona Radensleben, Spencer. Two
brothers, August and John, of Parkston, and nine grandchildren also
survive.
Funeral services, to charge of H.
Noble and Son, were held Tuesday
to the Milltown United Brethren
church, and burial was at Milltown.
