About Ferdinand Karlin
Ferdinand Karlin, 89, 311 E. 14th, died Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Topeka.
He was born Feb. 21, 1894 in Catherine, the son of Carl and Elizabeth Karlin.
He married Mary Pfannenstiel in April 1932 in Hays.
He was a retired painting contractor, a veteran, a member of the American Legion and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald, Topeka, and Norbert, Hays; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Breer, Wichita, and Mrs. Helen Breer, Topeka; a brother, John, Denver; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Leikam, Victoria, Mrs. Beatrie Arnhold, Hays, and Mrs. Katherine Schwartz, Salina; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call brom 7 - 9 p.m. tonight and from 1 - 9 p.m. Friday at Brock’s North Hill Chapel. A parish wake service will be a 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
