Flavia van Horn was born into a long-established family of Nieuw Amsterdam Knickerbockers who had settled in Chicopee MA by 1728. She was the widow of Gad White when she married Billings Moulton's father William in Stafford Tolland Co CT in 1818. They had four sons, Ernest, Arthur, Billings Jr and Frank. She is buried in Billings and Harriet Moulton's plot (see #69294582), where a monument had been set up while they were still young, and engraved with names and birthdates as was the custom. Billings and Harriet migrated to California some years after Flavia's burial, and when they died in Riverside their remains were sent by rail to be interred in Hope Cemetery, where the dates of death were added to their monument.
