Florina T Schlangen

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Florina T. Schlangen, age 82, of St. Cloud who passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Reverend Lauren Virnig will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Florina was born on July 25, 1933 in Richmond, Minnesota to John and Gertrude (Jacobs) Kalthoff. She married Marcus Schlangen on September 5, 1951 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Farming. Florina worked in health care for many years throughout the St. Cloud area. She was a wonderful homemaker all of her life. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Catholic Financial United.

Florina enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and quilting. She especially loved all the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Elmer (Dionne) of St. Cloud, Jerome (Beth) of Benson, Dorothy (Gary) Hadrich of Holdingford, Michael (Shirley) of St. Cloud, Bernard (Mary Ann Ziebarth) of Sartell, Viola (Donald) Dinndorf of St. Augusta, Beverly (Craig) Diedrich of Sauk Rapids, Gordon (Kimberly) of Rockville, Joseph (Amy) of Clear Lake, Kurt (Jodi Haus) of Clear Lake; 32 grandchildren; 25great grandchildren; six sisters, and one brother; and many nieces and nephews.

Florina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcus in 2013; two brothers; and one sister.
