About Floyd Edward Gish
His nickname was Bud. He grew up in Onalaska. As a young man, he was a logger working in Wasington and Oregon. He and his wife, Jessie, then opened a restaurant in downtown Chehalis. Then they moved to Alaska . After they retired they moved back to western Washington to live near their middle son, Ev, in Federal Way.
Floyd Gish was responsible for writing the Andrew and Lavina family history. He also started the Gish family reunion which is the first Saturday in August in Chehalis, Washington . The first reunion was held in 1987. At the reunion in 1981 Floyd and Jessie celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Since Floyd's death Jessie has been hosting the reunions. The favorite recreation at these reunions is playing baseball just as it was at the many Gish and Smith reunions in Minnesota.
