About Fly/Off. Noel Somervell Culpan
Noel Somervell Culpan (reg. 1924/10103) was the son of William Hugh Rae Culpan and Blanche Martha Melica Culpan (Gemmell), of Auckland, New Zealand. He attended Auckland Boys Grammar School, played rugby and matriculated, passing the Medical preliminary exams. He was a member of the Auckland wing of the Air Training Corps. Died when his Lancaster bomber, of which he was captain, went down in France on the way to a mission over Munich, Germany.
