François II Bouchard d'Aubeterre

VIII) BOUCHARD François II, chevalier, seigneur baron d'Aub eterre, né vers 1500. Il épousa en premières noces vers 1518, Isabelle de Saint-S eignes. De cette union naquirent :

1) Robert, coseigneur d'Aubeterre. Il constitua, le 24 ao ût 1566, une rente de 1200 livres, à Gabrielle Laurensanne , sa belle-soeur, dont le mari, François BOUCHARD, frère d u donateur, compromis sans doute dans quelques affaires cal vinistes, s'était retiré à Genêve, (où il fabriquait des bo utons, au dire de Brantôme). Il décéda célibataire.

2) François, qui suit .
3) Antoinette, qui épousa en 1553 Jean Parthenay l'Archevêq ue, seigneur de Soubise. Le 3 mai 1573, elle fut prisonnière de l'armée qui assiégea it la ville de Lyon. Menacée d'être conduite sous les mur s de la ville et poignardée, ainsi que sa fille (la célèbr e Catherine de Parthenay), si son mari, qui commandait dan s la ville pour le Prince de Condé, ne la rendait pas, ell e lui écrivit de plutôt la laisser périr que de trahir sa c ause.

4) Suzanne, qui épousa le 22 septembre 1556 Gabriel de La Mothe-Fouquet.

5) peut-être Anne, qui se maria en premières noces, le 21 f évrier 1546, avec Jeannot de Lanes, seigneur de La Roche-Ch alais. Veuve, et profondément calviniste, elle finança Calvin, Thé odore de Bèze, etc. (Jean Corbin). En secondes noces avec François des Plans, chevalier. Comm e son frère François, elle se retira à Genêve, où elle pass a un acte le 17 mai 1559. Devenu veuf, il épousa en secondes noces Isabeau de Pompado ur, tante de Marguerite, épouse du maréchal de Saint-André , puis amie du Prince de Condé. Elle donna tous ses biens au Maréchal de Saint-André, ce qu i fut sans doute la cause de la brouille entre François I I et ses enfants. Ces derniers passèrent à la Réforme. Isabeau était à Aubeterre le 14 mai 1562, au moment du sa c de la ville par les Huguenots, et tenta de sauver les orn ements dont elle avait fait don à l'église Saint-Jacques. François entretenait une correspondance avec le duc d'Aumal e au sujet de la révolte contre la gabelle en 1548. Anne d e Montmorency noya cette révolte dans le sang, mais Aubeter re fut épargnée grâce à la fermeté de François vis à vis de s habitants dans les murs. (Jean Corbin). Il tenta de saisir des biens de la maison de Mareuil, mai s il fit débouter au profit de ses cousins. (Jean Corbin). Il décéda le 22 septembre 1555. A son décès, le Maréchal d e Saint-André acheta Aubeterre, probablement avec des vice s de forme car les BOUCHARD en reprirent possession plus ta rd. (Jean Corbin).
