from a Virginia Book "Virginia County Record" 975.5/c887H; "William ARMISTEAD of Virginia was the son of Anthony ARMISTEAD of Kirk Deighton, Yorkshire, and his wife Frances THOMPSON, whom he married in 1608. The son, William, was baptized in All Saints, Kirk Deighton, 3 Aug 1610.
He came to the Colony about 1635 and died before 1660.

Wm. Armistead baptised 1610 Kirk Deighton Yorkshire, Eng. Emigrated to Va. 1635/6. First born of 12 children (7 sons 5 daughters) to Anthony Armistead and Frances Thompson On record:
10 baptism dates, 6 burial dates for some of Wm's siblings. NO RALPH! No record of birth, batism or death for any Ralph Armistead in Yorkshire.

Wm. was married to Ann Ellis of Giggleswick Yorkshire in the very year the final child was born to Wm's parents. Wm's baby sister is called Rachel, baptised 1632.

LDS files list Ralph Armistead born 1619 in Kirk Deighton. This info was submitted by Stephanie Green, TX and is in error andr cannot be substantiated,

she also suggests that Anthony and Frances were married in All Saints Church - K. D. this is not a fact. However, Record shows a license was issued to them in 1608 at K. D. but no record that the marriage took place in All Saints Church.

Frances Thompson Armistead was buried 1634, Wm. and Ann left England within 18 mos. of his mothers death. Father Anthony died 1642 in K.D.
