About Frances (---) Binkley

~ This page is sponsored by a Binkley descendant ~

I have researched this family for many years. If you are related, and would like to share or exchange information I would love to hear from you.

NOTE: Irany was NOT the surname for Fronica, wife of Johannis Binckley Years ago Stan Bourdo printing on his family group sheet made the nickname "Frany" in the area for the last name and many people mistook his (terrible) printing for Irany - - - -

"Fanny" Binkley's gravestone has become weathered but the death date should read 1846 not 1816, There is an Ohio death certificate for her with this correct date. Died at age 74 y 6 mos & 6 days.

Date of birth would then be estimated at c1774

After the death of Capt Christian Binckley, she went to live with her son Christian in Sandusky County, Ohio until her death.

Irany is NOT the maiden name of this lady. Her father-in-law Capt. Christian Binkley, that she cared for until his death in 1832, called her "Frany", and several people have misread the handwriting of Stan Bourdo who filled out his family group sheet with this nickname and this mistake has been copied and passed along for fact. Her name was handwritten as Fronica in land records in Perry County, Ohio.

To clarify the names of Johannis and Johan Jacob, please know they were two different men, brothers and both sons of Capt Christian Binckley of Perry County, Ohio.

Johan Jacob Binckley married Elizabeth Wingard and they are buried in Binkley-Ridge Perry County, Ohio cemetery, please check that section of FAG for more information on both of them and her second husband, John Baker. Jacob (Bincley) as he went by, died c1810 and has documents at the courthouse in Fairfield County, Ohio. Elizabeth had children by both (Johann)Jacob Binckley and John Baker.

Capt. Christian Binckley's will specified that his daughter and Franey share his household goods. The book "Biographical sketches-History of Perry County, Ohio" pg 341 seems to imply Christian lived in the household of his son Johannis and daughter-in-law after the death of his son Johannis. There is NO PROOF of Michael having been the middle name for Capt. Christian Binckley. Let me say it again, there is NO PROOF of Christian Binckley having had the name of Michael, middle or otherwise in any document anywhere. I believe this presumption came about after some reseachers thinking Christian was the son of Hans Michael Binckley but that has been proven incorrect.
