About Frances Caroline Burr
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Koosharem Ward chapel for Mrs. Frances Caroline Cloward Burr, 76, a pioneers and well known church worker from Burrville, who died of asthma Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Byron Hanchett of Annabella. Burial will be in the Burrville cemetery. Mrs. Burr's heath had been failing the past four years.
Born at Payson on January 25, 1863, a daughter of Thomas P. and Mary Page Cloward, Mrs. Burr resided there until her marriage to Myron Leonard Burr on November 18, 1880, in the Salt Lake endowment house. Her husband and father were the first settlers of Burrville, and she made her home there 58 years, taking an active part in the community. She was president of the Relief Society at Burrville for 12 or 15 years, and worked also in the Sunday School, Primary and M.I.A> She and her husband served at missionaries in the Manti temple for two years, and she worked constantly at the temple for ten years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Chloe C. Torgenson of Salina and Mrs. Viola Hanchett of Annabella; three sons, Wilford P. Burr, Chas. E. Burr and Reed Smoot Burr of Burrville; 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her husband died nine years ago.
