Mrs. Jennie Langworthy Dies Early This Morning
Mrs. Jennie Langworthy, widow of S.B. Langworthy, passed away at her home, 406 South Franklin street, at 1:20 o'clock this morning, following a long illness. Services Monday for Mrs. S.B. Langworthy: Aged Woman Will be Laid at Rest in Family Lot in Union Cemetery, North of City.
Services in memory of Mrs. S. B. Langworthy will be conducted from the Wesleyan Methodist church, East Spruce street, Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. preceded by a brief prayer service at the home, 406 South Franklin street. Rev. Elizabeth Hunton, pastor, will conduct the service and the interment will be made in the family lot in Union cemetery, north of the city.
Jennie Langworthy, widow of S.B. Langworthy, brief mention of whose death was made in The Herald yesterday, was a daughter of the late Samuel Brown and Betsy Carroll Kerr. She was born a few miles north of the city on July 13, 1846, and on November 10, 1864, was united in marriage with S.B. Langworthy in Titusville.
Mr. Langworthy was engaged in the lumber business and with his wife and family resided at Kinzua and Bradford for a number of years, and later in Titusville, were Mr. Langworthy passed away on August 7, 1917. To them were born three children who survive as follows: S.D. Langworthy of Toledo, O., Mrs. Gus Gahm of Buffalo, N.Y. and Mrs. Lola Walker, who lives north of the city. There are eighteen surviving grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Mary Schultz, who lives a few miles north of the city.
Mrs. Langworthy had been in failing health for the past two years but only seriously ill about three weeks. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church and held in high esteem by all who knew her. Titusville Herald: Titusville, PA 12/04/1926, pg 2
