About Frances Mae Harmon
GEDCOM Note
My beloved mother Frances Mae Harmon Brown died at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Wicomico, Maryland at age 59 on Thursday, 12 June 1997 at 11:45am. Her "Service of Victory" was held at 12:00pm on Monday, 16 June 1997 at the Victory Faith Worship Center; 305 E. Main St; Fruitland, Wicomico, Maryland. Rev. Matthew W. Brown officiated and the interment was in Springhill Memory Gardens in Salisbury, Wicomico, Maryland. The pallbearers were: Kenny Ballard, Raymond Chandler, Leonard Harmon, Rudolph Harmon, Kevin Hughes, and Albert Lilliston.
Through God's infinite grace and mercy, her daily prayer during her illness was "Jesus comfort my heart's desire to work and speak and think for thee, that others may see Christ in me."
She was a 1955 graduate of Salisbury High School in Salisbury, Wicomico, Maryland. In 1955 the school gymnasium was completed. The Principal of the school at that time was Mr. William B. Jones.
She was a devoted member and mother of the Victory Faith Worship Center in Fruitland, Wicomico, Maryland and a former member of the Weeping Mary Full Gospel Baptist Church in Salisbury, Wicomico, Maryland, where she was assistant secretary for the Sacred Doves Choir and a member of the Senior Choir. The Sacred Doves Choir was organized by the late Reverend Lindsey Crudup on 25 April 1950 and she was a member for 42 years. The motto of the Choir has been from the beginning "To unite with one another in affection and good will."
For many years she worked for Lawson, Mardon and Wheaton Rubber Manufacturers as a molding specialist.
For many years she worked for Lawson, Mardon and Wheaton Rubber Manufacturers as a molding specialist.
One of my mother's favorite hymns was "I'll Fly Away" of which she was the only member of the Choir who knew all of the words without having to use the hymn book. How fitting and proper it was to conclude her "Service of Victory" with the Sacred Dove Choir and the Senior Choir singing "I'll Fly Away". Her favorite hymn was "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and her favorite Scripture verses were Psalm 37:1-9:
1 FRET not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
