About Frances Jemima Oswald
Frances Oswald 4th daughter of General Sir John Oswald of Dunnikier
Women of the bedchamber to Queen Victoria member of the Victoria & Albert order. She married her first cousin once removed John Murray Drummond at Dunnikier in Fife. Afterwards they drove to Newborough and ferried over the Tay and onto Megginch; it was very cold. They celebrated their Golden wedding at Dunniker. She was known as The Rose of Fife in her youth and had many friends and was a personal friend of Queen Victoria, who wrote her the most indiscreet letters which unfortunately her daughter Mary, or Aunt Ida as she was known as, tore out all the interesting bits in them. When her second granddaughter Victoria was born, Q.V. sent a telegram: "hurrah now I can be a god mother which she was." because the Queen knew she had wanted a boy
