About Francis Burdett

John Blore (Blower) was listed in the Muster of February 1624/25 at Eastern Shore, VA. He was shown as John Blore, age 27 who came in the Star in 1610. Listed with him was Frances Blore, age 25 who came in the London Marchant in 1620. Servants listed with him were John Parramore, age 17, who came in the Bona Venture in 1622 and John Wilkin

Disputed Origins

Not a known child of John Lake, I

Not a lot of credible information about her lineage. I would detach her from the Lake parents [Hatte Blejer June 2019]. It doesn't fit the Lake family to have a daughter in Accomack County marrying random blokes.

Need to find a Lake family with sons Edward and Richard, and daughters Jane, Margaret, and Elinor. If there is a Francis or Frances, so much the better. :-) http://espl-genealogy.org/MilesFiles/site/p846.htm#i84581

"I can't find any reference to Frances Leake/Lake as that being her maiden name...the ship list for 1620 London Merchant lists her as Francis Blore, wife of John on the Starr...I think the info comes from the Muster Roll (APP, p. 70), when they were asked how they came...so she just gives her married name...I don't think the original ship list for the London Merchant is available, just reconstructed from the Muster"

FRANCIS (FRANCES) BLORE (BLOAR, BLOWER) (MRS. JOHN BLORE [BLOAR, BLOWER], MRS. ROGER SANDERS [SAUNDERS], MRS. WILLIAM BURDETT) Francis (Frances), who married ancient planter, John Blore (Bloar, Blower), came to Virginia in 1620 on the London Merchant. On February 16, 1624 she was living on the Eastern Shore in a household headed by her husband. Also present was their child, John II. In Early 1625 John and Francis Blore were still living on the Eastern Shore, on Old Plantation Creek (73). The household included two servants, but the Blores child John II was no longer present, probably because he was deceased. In 1625 Francis Blore was age 25. Sometime prior to March 14, 1628. Francis was widowed. She married mariner Roger Sanders (Saunders), whom she also outlived, and sometime after September 16, 1633, she wed William Burdett, who executed a prenuptial agreement. When Francis Blore Sanders Burdett made her will on March 23, 1641, she made bequests to several individuals.

"William Burdett/Burditt, aged 25, was domiciled on the Eastern Shore under the muster of Captain William Epes, and had arrived in Virginia on the "Susan" during 1615, according to the census taken in 1625 after the massacre by the Indians on Good Friday, 1623."

"On March 14, 1628, William Burdett was in possession of land on Accomac which had been leased at one time to George Traveller, Planter."..."In 1632 William Burdett made a marriage agreement with the Widow Sanders that she should retain her own property."

"Frances, the Widow Sanders, at the 1625 Virginia census, aged 25, was married to John Blore/Blower and had arrived in Virginia on the "London Merchant" in 1620.She had been in Britain whose family name was Lake. (I don't understand that sentence.) Her husband, John Blore, aged 27, came to Virginia in 1610 on the "Star." After the death of John Blower she married Roger Sanders and was a widow in 1632 when she was courted by William Burdett."

"Frances Blower Sanders Burdett died ["intestate" - not true, she did leave a will] in 1641, leaving her estate to her Blower child or children and her Lake brothers and sisters in England."(There is a sentence I cannot read."
