Obituary from Utica, NY, Newspaper (transcribed): Francis G. Potter. Francis Garfield Potter, 67, died unexpectedly Jan. 18, 1948 in his home, 407 Lansing. Dr. H.J. Haberer, coroner, said death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. Born in Brownville, Apr. 18, 1880, he was a son of the late Fred and Lottie Wolover Potter. For the last 25 years he had resided in Utica and was employed as a shipping clerk by the Durr Packing Company, retiring two years ago. He married Myrtie Eaton in Rodman, July 5, 1905. Surviving besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Louis Smith, Brooklyn; three sons, Seymour, Miami, Fla.; Glen, Herkimer, and Donald, Utica; three brothers, Clarence P., Watertown; Frederick, Detroit, and Gordon, Chadwicks; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday from the Quinn & Ryan Funeral Chapel, 800 John, the Rev. M. DeForest Lowen officiating. Burial will be in Rodman in the Spring.
