Francis Lawrence Koppelberger, Jr.

He attended Notre Dame University Law School, but although he obtained his degree, he never passed the bar and practiced law. He probably graduated in early 1940's - just before moving to Bay City, Michigan.

Frank worked in Bay City Michigan in the office at The Electric Auto-Lite Company probably starting in the late 1930's/early 1940's. Frank was in Accounting.,...probably Head Accountant or Comptroller

About 1944 a local "farm girl"attended the local Business College,then got a steno job at Auto-Lite. Her name was Maryanne. She was hired as Frank's secretary, & he ended up marrying her within a year. She was very pretty.. They went on to have three children, first Laurie, then Frank,Jr. then, Rosemary.

The Koppelberger family lived in Bay City at a charming cottage on the Saginaw Bay (which had been Frank's bachelor home), then when the marriage broke up in the early 1950's, Maryanne got a secetarial job at Dow Chemical, in Bay City & she bought a modest house where she lived with her children until she met a naval officer visiting Bay City on business, William Hamilton, and they shortly thereafter married. ("Bill" had a couple of kids by his deceased wife) Bill adopted Laurie/Laura, Frank Jr. and Rosemary. The family moved around the country a lot being a Navy family, ending up in California where Maryanne and Bill eventually divorced.

As for Frank, he left the Electric Auto Lite under mysterious circumstances about 1952 when the company auditors came in. Frank moved back to Wisconsin shortly thereafter to manage some family-owned movie theaters - the Marcus theatres in Oshkosh.
