A Francis Larkham was baptised 24 Mar 1811 in Leighland. Census records consistently show Francis Larcombe's birth place as [Old] Cleeve, and church records show many more Larcombes in the region than Larkhams, but it could be that the person who recorded the baptism introduced the misspelling, and baby Francis Larkham was in fact Francis Larcombe. The parents of that baby were listed as James and Ann "Larkham," of whom there is no other record. A James Larcombe married an Ann Mears in Monksilver (near to both Leighland and Old Cleeve) in 1795.
