Blackwedel (b 1856 in Galena IL to JH Blackwedel & A. Meta Hollermann) re Family Search. His father shows in the 1850 Census in Illinois, his name was not correctly transcribed . As one of the other reporters states his name was Ithamar Pillsbury and in the 1880 census Francis I. Pillsbury shows and so does a younger child with the name Ithamar. His father Ithamar Pillsbury was a Clergyman. He died in 1893 and seemed to have one child.
His wife's Blackwedel family was connected to DANIEL KINDLE ZUMWALT, well known pioneer in the history of California, Tulare county.

H., and came to Yale College from Canaan, N. H.; graduated from Yale in 1822; was ordained as an evangelist 19 June 1822, and was several months engaged as city missionary in Boston and New York. He was ordained Congregational minister in 1825, and was for many years pastor of a church in Smithtown, L.I. He was installed pastor of a church in Princeton, Ill., in May 1850. In 1853 he was chosen President of McDonough College, Macomb, Ill., and served until the institution was given up for lack of funds. |
