FRANCIS WYATT, (13—4), of Petesworth Parish, Gloucester Co., Va., b. 1680; d. 1745; was a prominent citizen and a Vestryman of Petesworth Parish, from 1710 to 1728; m. Elizabeth —; her surname is unknown, but believed by many of her descendants to have been Kennon, a dau, of Richard Kennon.

Issue:

  • 14-1. Francis, of Gloucester Co., Va., m. 1742, Lucy Rowe, dau, of James and Mary - Rowe, of Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., Va., and had issue.
  • 14—2. William, of Liverpool, England, was a mariner; m. unknown, and had issue.
  • 14-3. Edward, of Virginia ; untraced.
  • 14—4. Thomas, of Spottsylvania Co., Va., was Justice of the Peace in 1762; m. Sukey Edmondson, dau. of John Edmondson; line untraced.
  • 15-5. Anne, m. John Thruston, of Virginia, and had issue; line untraced.
  • 14–6. ELIZABETH; of whom later. b. about 1735, in Gloucester Co., Va.; m. Capt. William Johnston, of Spottsylvania Co., Va., son of Col. Richard Johnston.

“I am skeptical that Elizabeth's maiden name was Kennon. Elizabeth's son was William Wiatt 'the Mariner', and he married Ann Kenyon. These maiden names seem too close to me. I have confirmed that William Wiatt (son of Francis & Elizabeth) married Ann Kenyon in Liverpool in 1746.”
