Francisca (45), was found murdered by her husband on their farm Uitsig, near Vrede early Saturday 25th August 2001. Captain Veronica Ntepe said Francisca had been bound and gagged and had suffered a broken nose. Her murderers stole five firearms, some household items and loaded them into the Van der Nest's 1994 red Citi Golf, registration number KYP 698 GP.

No arrests were made.
