• He was the Original Grantee of the Santa Cruz land grant containing 17,713 acres in present day Starr and Hidalgo counties, Texas. The grant was made by Spain on May 1, 1809. Ranches on this land grant included Rancho de San Jose Viejo, Rancho de San Ramon, Rancho de Guadalupe and Rancho Santa Teresa; the Camino de la Real Salina also crossed this land grant.
• Parents: Pedro Ignacio FARIAS and Maria Guadalupe SALDUA.
• Spouse: Maria Francisca RAMIREZ. Maria Francisca RAMIREZ and Francisco Ygnacio FARIAS were married.
