Frank Eiland Wilson, Jr. was born January 30, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, son of Frank Eiland Wilson, Sr., and Ruby (Ruffner) Wilson.

In Texas, in 1942, Frank moved with his family to Pleasanton. In 1952, they moved to Lubbock where he graduated from Lubbock High School and went on to Texas Tech University to study Architecture. From 1956 to 1964, Frank worked for Haynes & Kirby Architects. Starting in 1964, he began his 36 year tenure at BGR as an accomplished architect. Beginning in December of 1969, he was a member of the American Institute of Architects.

On June 6, 1980, Frank married Patsy (Stennett) Ashley in Roswell, N.M. He became stepfather of her 3 children; Kevin, Kyle and Gina Ashley and father of 3 sons; Gary, Todd and Mike Wilson.

From 1985 to 1987, he served as President for the Lubbock Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute. Also, he served as President of BGR from 1995 until his retirement in 2000.

In time, his family grew to include 7 grandchildren; Stephan, Angela, Candace, Tanner, Rex, Tripp and Austin. On October 29, 2003, his granddaughter, Candace Ashley, preceded him in death.

On Tuesday, December 2, 2008, Frank E. Wilson, Jr., 70, of Lubbock, passed away in Lubbock. Arrangements were with Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. Celebration of Life services were held on Thursday, December 4, at 1 p.m. in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Entombment followed at Resthaven Memorial's Park Mausoleum, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

Frank E. Wilson, Jr., 70, of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, in Lubbock.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at 1 p.m. in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial's Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 - 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Frank was born on Jan. 30, 1938, in San Antonio, to the late Frank Sr., and Ruby (Ruff-ner) Wilson. In 1942, Frank moved to Pleasanton, and then to Lubbock, in 1952, with his family. He graduated from Lubbock High School and went on to Texas Tech University to study Architecture. Frank worked for Haynes & Kirby Architects from 1954 to 1964. Starting in 1964, Frank began his 36 year tenure at BGR as an accomplished architect. Beginning in December of 1969, he was a member of the American Institute of Architects. Frank married Patsy Stennett Ashley on June 6, 1980, in Roswell, N.M. From 1985 to 1987, Frank served as President for the Lubbock Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute. He also served as President of BGR from 1995 until his retirement in 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Wilson, of Lubbock; three sons: Gary Wilson and wife, Nancy of Round Rock, Tod Wilson of Lubbock, and Mike Wilson of Lubbock; two step-sons: Kevin Ashley and wife, Jeannie of Lubbock, and Kyle Ashley and wife, June of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Gina Jennings and husband Buddy of Kingwood; six grandchildren, Stephan and Angela Wilson, Tanner and Rex Ashley, Tripp Ashley, and Austin Jennings; a sister, Sharon Strange of Texarkana; and a favorite cousin, Don Wilson of Carmel, Calif.

Frank was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candace Ashley, on Oct. 29, 2003.
