Frank L. Lacey, son of Daniel and Parmelia Lacey was born August 26, 1871 in Clay county (sic), Kansas, and passed away early Monday morning, July 30, at the Superior hospital. He had attained the age of 73 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Mr. Lacey was afflicted for nearly two years, being a patient sufferer, and was most tenderly cared for in the home by his companion and children.

During his youth he traveled extensively with his parents, going by team and covered wagon, and visited many places and numerous states. In 1896 the amily (sic) came here and located permafnently (sic).

On October 6, 1898 Mr. Lacey was married to Miss Crete Young. Fourteen children were born to this union. One son and a daughter died in inancy (sic), and Vern at the age of 13. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, Crete, and eleven children: Ray and Guy of Nelson, Ruth Hansen of Beaver Crossing, Jay and Lyle in Utah, Burdette of Lincoln, Eugent (sic) and Jack who are overseas, Patty Bartels, Oak, Bonnie Rasplicka, Tobias, and Anabelle Staritz of Fallbrook, California. Also surviving are 17 grand children and 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Will of Beaver Crossing, John of Norfolk, and a sister, Mrs. Nancy Reeves of San Jose, Calif.; 6 daughters-in-law, and 4 sons-in-law. Numerous other relative and friends will miss him greatly.

A kind, dear one, from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place so vacant, in our home,
Which never can be filled.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the M.E. church (sic) with Rev. V.R. Daniels of Harvard in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Wilbur Portwood of Nelson, Mrs. J.L. Scroggin, James Hansen and Earl Kincannon; Mrs. Harry Moore at the piano.

Pallbearers were: Gene and Ralph Follmet (sic), Claus Shipley, Jack Montgomery, Art Lomax and Emil Klawitter of Nelson. Interment was made in Oak Grove cemetery (sic).
