About Frank Lamoyne Jackson
Frank L. Jackson, 88, of 2819 County Hwy. J, Chippewa Falls, town of Hallie, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
He was born April 22, 1912, in Albertville, Chippewa County, to Katherine (Dascher) and Erwin Jackson. He was raised by his mother in the town of Wheaton, where he attended Longview School.
Frank married Agnes M. Burtness on June 8, 1935, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. They had resided in the Hallie area since their marriage.
Frank's family started in the fruit business with his grandfather, "Strawberry" Jackson, being the first to introduce domestic strawberries to Wisconsin. His mother carried on the tradition by peddling fruits and vegetables door-to-door to support the family. Frank continued the business by owning and operating the Jackson Fruit Co. from 1953 to 1975, when he opened the Jackson Chainsaw Co., retiring in 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Iman of Eau Claire, Marilyn (Tom) Joles of Chippewa Falls; one son, LaMoyne (Betty) Jackson of Chippewa Falls; 11 grandchildren, Katie (Tory) Toraasen, Patrick Jackson, LaMoyne Jackson, Jr., Lana Jackson, Terry Jackson, Robert (Jill) Joles, David (Suzette) Joles, Guy (Mary) Joles, Julie (John) Hebert, Cherie (David) Oman, Suzanne (John) Hardman; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes on Nov. 20, 1995; his parents; three sisters, Lillian Martin, Lucille Marasek, Pearl Nowak; nine brothers, Vernon, Bert, Bernard, Erval, Clarence, Vilas, and Roy Jackson, and Victor and Gilmore Ihle; two grandchildren, Laurie Jackson and Dan Joles.
