About Frank Meyer
Frank married Charlotte Wilhemina Schwake on 1/3/1867 in Fayette Co, TX. They had Henry and Albert.
A third son, Henry is found living with Minna Meyer (who is listed as HH) in the 1880 Fayette Co, TX census. He is 7 years old and is listed as Minna's son. Minna was Charlotte Wilhemena Schwacke when she married Frank Meyer in 1867. In 1870, Frank and Minna are listed in Fayette Co with a son, Henry. Then Frank disappears by 1880 and Minna (Minnie, Mina in various records) is listed with 3 children: Henry (from 1870); Albert and Henry with the surname "Schwake" not Meyer (in 1880 Minna's surname is listed as "Myer"). So, I don't know if Henry is really her biological son or not.
New information has been submitted provided by Kathryn Petch at petchk@me.com: Frank was a confederate soldier during the Civil War. On the muster rolls, he was listed as F Meyer as part of the Engineers...he served the La Grange community as a Blacksmith, as did his father Florin Meyer. This profession was passed down to his son, Albert W F Meyer (1871 - 1959).
Both of Frank’s parents (Florian and Frederica) died in the 1867 La Grange Yellow Fever Epidemic. His wife, Minna’s mother also died in 1867 from Yellow Fever during the Epidemic in La Grange.
