About Frank Alden Perkins
Frank Alden Perkins, 86, of Union, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2007, at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea following a long illness.
He was born at Ripley, Maine, on May 25, 1921, a son of the late Leroy R. and Jennie E. Pettingill Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a retired carpenter, a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church at Sarton and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Hazel Pence Perkins on May 4, 2007; and a brother, Phillip Perkins.
Surviving are four children, Clark Perkins of Union, Lloyd Perkins of Covington, Va., Paulette Wall of Greensboro, N.C., and Gary Perkins of Renick; a sister, Barbara Goulette of Dexter, Maine; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Groves Funeral Home Chapel, Union, with the Rev. Bob Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Union.
Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Groves Funeral Home, Union, is in charge of arrangements.
