Frank P. Schaecher passed away Friday, December 26 in Omaha, Nebraska. Death was due to complications resulting from a fall. Mr. Schaecher was born on June 29, 1872 in Colon, Germany a son of Henry and Helen Schaecher. At the age of one year he came with his parents to America. October 5, 1898 he was united in marriage to Anna Luetkenhaus at the St. Bernard church. In 1915, they came to Lindsay from Parkston, South Dakota. Mr. Schaecher operated a Raleigh route, and at which time his patrons called him "Doc." Later he operated a cream station until 1931 when he retired. Through his jovial disposition, Mr. Schaecher, in later years was known as "Pop."
Mr. and Mrs. Schaecher were blessed with six children. A daughter, Clara passed away in 1918 and his wife preceded him in death on July 6, 1944. Surviving are his five children; Mrs. Herman Weidner of Omaha with whom he had been making his home; Mrs. R. J. Fisch of LeMars, Ia.; Mrs. Paul Putnam, Mrs. Oscar Liske and Joe Schaecher all of Rock Island, Illinois. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Kate Kurtenbach, and one brother Pete Schaecher, both of Humphrey. Twenty-three grand-children and one great grandchild also survive.
Mr. Schaecher was a devout member of the Catholic church and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, December 29th at 9 o'clock at Holy Family church in Lindsay with Mgsr. J. L. Zaplotnik officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery beside his wife. Pallbearers were Arthur Wessel, Leo Schaecher, Frank Luetkenhaus, Tony Kurtenbach, George Schaecher and Louis Wessel - Lindsay Post.
