September 12, 1918 - WWI Registration Card lists birthday as September 12, 1883, home as Mount Vernon, Lawrence County, Missouri., wife Ruby Gertrude Sisney. Short, slender build, blue eyes, dark hair. He signed his name Ben Frank Sisney.

Narration by Opal Sisney (niece of Frank) .... Uncle Frank, Dad's only full blood brother, married a spinster for a wife. They had two girls. Uncle Frank decided to move to California so he sent his wife and two girls on ahead while he drove the herd of stock through. When he came near the town where his wife and girls were, friends rode out and told him that his wife was living with another man. So Uncle Frank left the livestock and went to the house, opened the door and shot his wife's lover then shot his wife, he then turned the gun on himself. The towns people buried Uncle Frank and his wife side by side and buried the lover elsewhere. I don't know what happened to the children. (Note: Ruby wasn't a spinster and youngest daughter Elsie died at 3 in Missouri. )

Basically, this same story was also passed down by Joy Petty, grandson of Caleb Petty and Amanda Sisney. Amanda was Frank's aunt. http://genforum.genealogy.com/sisney/messages/136.html (posted by Jack Couch).

August 6, 1926 - Chehalis Bee-Nugget, Chehalis, Washington

                             FRANK SISNEY BOUND OVER
Held With Bail at $350 for Attacking
                                         G. H. Paul Testimony in the State case against Frank Sisney, Hoquiam mill employee, who was charged with first degree assault on G. H. Paul at the Ritzman farm three miles south of Toledo, Sunday July 25, was conflicting when the preliminary was heard Monday afternoon by Justice O.A. Tucker. Paul's first reports of the alleged assault on him placed him in the light of acting the role of a good Samaritan. Sisney's tale of what occurred put Paul in the light of a homewrecker. Paul appeared in court with his head bandaged up, admittedly due to the beating given him by Sisney. There were no witnesses to the beating given Paul by Sisney, excepting the two men and Mrs. Sisney. The latter, who has returned to her husband's roof, was not put on the stand and it will not be until the case is heard in superior court that her version of the affair will be given. However, Justice Tucker, after hearing the evidence submitted, bound Sisney over to the Superior court for trial and fixed his bail at $350. Deputy Attorney Jahnke appeared for the state: G. L. Thacker for Sisney.
