Frank Tishendorf

Frank Petterson Tishendorf , b. 05 May 1863 in Smaland, Sweden, d: 27 Nov 1929 in Nebraska, was the son of Charlotte G. Person and Mr. Petterson. He was the step-son of Anders Andrew Lindgren. He immigrated to the US in 1869, with Anders & Charlotte. He appears in the 1880 census as Frank Lingren, and appears on land records in Saunders County, NE as Frank Petterson. He legally changed his surname when he was courting a woman who thought that Petterson was "too common". She suggested Tishendorf as an acceptable surname. He kept the name but not the woman.
