Franz Anton was born 6 Jun 1869 to Johann and Victoria, god parents: Casimir Wierkus and Theresia Wierkus.

Franz was 16 1/2 years old when he came to America with his mother, half-sister, and his younger brothers and sister in November of 1885. He worked in lumber camps in the Portage County area as a young man.

He married Martha Glodowska on 25 Jan 1892 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Witnesses: Andrew Trzeviatowski and Joseph Bielawski.

The couple's first home was a farm in the town of Buena Vista. They had six children. A daughter, Martha, died at two months. Frank's wife Martha died two weeks after the birth of this child on 30 Jan 1902 at the age of 27. Later two of their daughters, Catherine and Rosalie, became members of the Felician order of nuns.

At some time before 1900, Frank moved to a property across the road from St. Mary's Catholic Church at Fancher. A short time later, the buildings wer moved to a nearby corner property where he operated a dance hall and a saloon. The pastor, Rev. Stanislaus J. Kublszewski, became concerned when parishioners frequented the saloon rather than church services. He circulated a petition to forbid having a saloon within one-half mile of the church.

Frank married Theophilia Iskier on 25 Nov 1902, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Witnesses: Jacob Trzebiatowski and Frank Iskier. The couple moved to a farm east of Polonia in 1906. In 1916, Frank bought farm property near Stevens Point wher he became a successful and respected business man. That property is now on Illinois Ave. just one block east of St. Michael's hospital. His son, Stanley lives in one of the houses which he had built.

The couple were charter members of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and active in church societies. Frank also served as treasurer for the parish and on its school committee. Eight of their nine children grew to adulthood. Ther attended elementary and secondary schools in Stevens Point.

Frank died of cancer on 8 May 1953, at the age of 83. His wife died almost 10 years later on 13 Jan 1963, at 81 years of age. The couple is buried in Guardian Angel Cemetary in Stevens Point.
