Franklin served with the U.S. Navy during WWII; later 2 years active duty with Naval Reserves. Franklin did not marry. He worked at Hammermill Paper Co., Erie, PA. He died suddenly in Erie, where he had lived for 17 years, at 353 W. 6th St. He died either 11 March or 12 May, 1965.
