About Franklin Thomas Sands, Jr.

GEDCOM Note

[v21t1998.ftw]

Family stories about his death said that he died in the San Francisco Earthquake/Fire of 1906. Investigating that possibility I received a note, replying to my inquiry, from Gladys Hansen, Archivist at the Museum of the City of San Francisco that listed a Thomas Sands Jr., bookeeper for California Notion and Topy Co., residing at 734 Harrison. She says that that area was one of total destruction in 1906 and that it was possible to be trapped and burn to death and become an unknown victim. As of this date February 6, 1997, I feel comfortable that Thomas is indeed the Franklin Thomas Sands, Jr. that I have been looking for and that he was indeed a victim.
