Fred H. Meredith

Fred H. Meredith, 72, died Dec 14, 1993, at the Southview Manor Care Home, Cozad, NE. He was employed for the City of Gothenburg from April 1, 1953, until retirement in 1986. He was born Feb. 21, 1921, at Cozad to Ed and Rhoda Pebley. Meredith and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U S Army from 1943 - 1946. Fred married Evelyn (Jenkins) Gronewold on Feb. 21, 1961. She died April 23, 1983. On September 22, 1984, he married Eva (Clement) McMichael who died March 9, 1992. Survivors include two step-sons, Marvin (Merril Jane) McMichael of Gothenburg and Doug Brouillette of Fairfax Station, VA; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann (Chuck) Agnew, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and Betty (Gary) Hogg of Kearney, NE; three brothers, Bill of Gothenburg, Henry and Ralph both of North Platte; seven step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Preceding Fred in death were a brother, Kenneth, on Nov. 2, 1993; a sister, Ruby; four half-brothers, two half-sisters, and a step daughter. Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steven Todd officiating. Burial will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Gothenburg Senior Center. Visitation will be 9 am - 9 pm today. McVay Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
